It may be the only way to balance the ill conceived notion that the fire trucks must roll each time there is a problem. Don’t know which idiot thought it up, but I suspect the politics of the situation (which will play on fears) will keep them rolling. The whole thing is ridiculous, and the only hope is the courts will strike it down, since the victim did not enter into a contract with the emergency services.
Let’s hope, but I’m not holding out much hope for the courts to take the side of the consumer. Your point is spot on with the contract issue.
