America and crossfit…

…an interesting take on sports as an American identity. I’ve never been one to enjoy organized sports on TV or care who passed for how many yards in 1968…but this is an interesting perspective. The jist of this article is that sports in America is the closest thing to the truth our society can collectively embrace? Politics…too divided. Religion…too divided. But sports seems, according to this article, to be a ‘put up or shut up’ kind of truth.

  1. It looks to me like only the first few paragraphs are on the topic of athletics enforcing truth. The rest looks like an advertisement for some new workout routine (much like the Zumba, or Insanity craze) wrapped up in the age old “press release” format.

As for divisiveness in Religion and Politics, you have the objective truth, and then you have the degree to which each of us cannot deal with that truth, and what portions of it we are in denial of.
