Housing news: it’s bad…

...the NAR says there's a 12.5 month supply of housing out there. Be assured that means there is more.

5,000 years of religion in 90 seconds…

...equally cool to the 5,000 years of war animation, and possibly more fascinating.

I'm taking a course in International Studies (Islam) and the instructor posted the war one, which led me to this one.

President Obama’s birth certificate…

...I actually like this response very much. I'm all for candidness and the fact of the matter is that the birth certificate issue is dead. The man was elected. He commands the resources of the most powerful nation on Earth; there's simply no way the system is going to let him be brought down by this issue, from the legislature to the Supreme Court.

I may be criticized for this, but I don't think the birth certificate matters at this point.

No surprise: fed mortgage program a dud…

...I am here to tell you, from first-hand experience, the problem is not homeowners who are unwilling or unable to make payments, the problem is the banks giving homeowners the run around. They don't call back, they lie, they give you bad information, they make promises they can't back or won't back up, and one hand is not talking to the other. I believe this is all by design, with one intent: soak the debtor and the government for every dollar they can.

Now. I actually agree with the independent banking analyst quoted in the article. Foreclosure and/or short sale is the free market answer. But...the banks have to stop jerking people around.

Obama and Bush and recess appointments…

...do you remember the absolute fit the left threw over President Bush's use of recess appointments? Hypocrites, the whole lot.
