If such a tape does exist, we'll not see it until after Obama has clinched the nomination. Should such a tape matter? I think so; it would definitely affect my vote if the wife of a candidate went around talking about "Whitey".

This commenter thinks the GOP is holding it (I agree, if it exists) because they don't want to face Clinton in the general election. I don't agree with that; I think it's simply potent ammunition, so 'warrants' being held until November. The same commenter thinks the GOP is holding it because:

Republian leaders don’t want McCain to face Clinton in a general election because her record & qualifications are such that McCain would lose to her.

Yeah, that's it. Her record is what, exactly? Her qualifications what, exactly?

There are two arguments they neglect to mention:

1. Hillary's in the race, taking votes that Obama will get in the general election.

2. She broke the agreed upon rules in Michigan and Florida. Now she wants the votes. She wants it both ways.

UPDATE: DailyKos is all over it, ascribing Huckabee's asinine statement to all Republicans in general. Apparently, it's a GOP thing to threaten violence against political enemies. You know, as opposed to the left's actual use of violence against theirs, from "peaceful protests"where pro-war students are bullied to the same where anti-abortion monuments are knocked down.

...which is his right as a US citizen. However, as a military member, failure to peform his his job will have consequences. If he is willing to suffer those consequences, then I applaud him for having the strength of his convictions. If, however, he tries to weasel his way out of the same - which I suspect is the case, since he held a press conference to make his declaration - then he is a weasel of the lowest denominator...on par with Jane Fonda.

From his "speech":

Whoa is you, poor guy.

The only way I see him being potentially successful in this would have been to step back to the right of the van and draw his weapon; that might have backfired, though, if they chose to rush him en masse.

It would be interesting to see what happened if, for example, the United States made it crystal clear that refusing to allow full, untrammelled humanitarian aid would result in pinpoint tactical nuclear strikes on Burmese military bases, followed by assassination teams gunning for the top leaders of the military dictatorship.

I'd pass on the nukes, but the rest sounds good.
