On Saturday, the Wall Street Journal reported that Johnson
received at least $7 million worth of home loans from Countrywide
through an informal program for friends of company CEO Angelo
Mozilo that offered rates below the market average. At least four
of the loans were issued while Johnson was employed either as the
CEO or an outside consultant for Fannie Mae.
Must be nice to be in that 'inner circle'. The rest of us
'disgust' guys like Mozilo.
...what in the hell are they thinking? I
suspect something along the line of "the enemy of my enemy is my
friend". It is, however, insanity to give the Saudi theocracy the
means to produce nuclear
weapons.
...as you can tell, the Internet is up and
running (more technically, the Internet connection) here at the
hotel...oddly enough, I can't access it from my personal MacBook
or my government PC, but I can access it through Parallels running
Windows XP on my MacBook. Oh well, it's working.
...and do something crazy like become
independent of our oil supply. That's not exactly what he
said but I'm sure he's thinking it. I've long thought that
it's strategically smart to use their oil up before tapping
ours...but where is the tipping point? How long do we kowtow to
OPEC?
...Hamas long, long ago lost any
credibility as a competent or effective broker of peace in this
conflict. They've never had any moral standing as such. Their
continued holding of this young man shows this to be the
case.
...I promised one last post on the Clinton
campaign. I was waiting for her speech to see just how she would
handle the Obama endorsement. It was a fine speech, but one she
should have given on Tuesday. The fact she held out and wasn't
ready to endorse him immediately contributes to the dominating view
of her as a shrewd, calculating politician. Much credit is being
given to her for the speech, for her graciousness. There are also
kind words being written about her future in the Democratic Party
because of it. There are also many kind words being written about
the outstanding work she's done since being elected to the Senate.
One wonders...how did she fit that in, since she began running
virtually upon taking Senate office?
All crap. What short memories we have and how easily influenced we
are. One gracious speech in an entire campaign riddled with
arrogance, entitlement, and rage should not a 'gracious' future
leader make.
I will leave this topic with this last link; it's an LA Times article about "What Undid Hillary
Clinton".
This monster hung a 7 year old boy from a ceiling
fan and beat him until he died. There can be no excuse, no
explanation, no justification for this act.
There can be only an answer. A swift, immediate answer.
I volunteer to hang this monster upside down from a ceiling fan and
beat him until he is dead.
Mr. Hoffmeister writes on American socialism, the free market,
gold, and moves the GOP should make. From the article:
But should the Republican Party kneel to the emerging socialist
tendencies of the voters? No. History has proven that good
capitalism is superior to good socialism, and thus the GOP must
repair the capitalist system by advocating a monetary policy whose
objective is stable, sound money. Additionally, it should seek the
abolishment of tax penalties on successful risk-taking, i.e. the
capital gains tax.
The GOP should do these things. But they won't. And they will
lose.
...by Allah. The thing is, he lives in
Charlotte, N.C. This spoiled boy who sells Cutco knives, lives in a
nice home with his mom and dad, and reaps all the benefits of
living in a Western nation wants you to take up jihad against
America and her protectors.
His name is Samir Khan...and he is a hypocrite. He
hides behind the 1st Amendment to the Constitution of the United
States, while railing against the same and for his god.
The Secretary of the Air Force as well as the Chief of Staff of the Air Force both forced to resign!?! Wow! Hopefully this marks the beginning of a return to greatness for the USAF!
