...to 'restore' their virginity so they'll not be ostracized at marriage. The article questions whether this is an act of liberation or oppression. I fail to see how it could at all be perceived as the former...instead, I think it's an ugly religious bias being appeased for fear of violence and offense. It's madness.

Makes no sense. Proof that giving up on Islam is not an option? How is that? How is it inforced in the West? It is obviously enforced! That should the issue and a cause for great alarm in nations that brag about freedom!
