Gore Vidal thinks we live in a dictatorship... PDF Print E-mail

...no moderately reasonable person could actually believe that the United States is a dictatorship, not when there are many examples of actual dictatorships from North Korea to Zimbabwe to Venezuela.

The man who is quoted as once having said, "There is no human problem which could not be solved if people would simply do as I advise," thinks we live in a dictatorship where the head of state controls everything. That's the last time I'll use that quote, even in jest. To do so would be to honor this...unreasonable...individual.

why would : TRex
Anyone actually listen to this idiot?

Google news found only about a dozen copies of this story, but the best one is:
http://www.anorak.co.uk/twitterings/184885.html
Which quotes Gore Vidal questioning history.

Again, why would anyone actually listen to this idiot?
