I tell ya. If I did not personally know very good people I might think this nation is corrupt through and through. Compare that to a ghetto kid or isolated immigrant that see's nothing but crap in his hood and in the media. How can he not believe life is ugly and you have to take what you can.

This is a good topic if anybody is interested. Multi culturalism and Biblical wisdom. My knee jerk respponse is that the Bible would victimize us but I think Rex has a better understanding there.

Had to go and look up a couple of things. First, what is multiculturalsim. Well, after looking that up, I noticed that in almost every country listed as "multicultural" in the article (and many of the "culturally dirverse" universities in the US) there is major hostility towards Jews and Christians - some of them are hostile to Christians and Jews by government policy. Many of the countries listed also have problems with hostility between other relidgions and ethnic groups.

Then there is the BattleRythm article that you wrote a couple of years ago. Vastly different, and makes me wonder why you ask the question, as you seem to know the answer.

OTOH, many Christians (and virtually all christians) don't know the Bible well enough to actually follow it, and are merely following what their christian "leadership" tells them. This is why I would also be wary of living in a "christian" theocracy (although, right now, I am more worried about the rise of discrimmination and violence angainst real Christians.

The Bible itself tells us to always do the right thing when dealing with each other, even when dealing with non christians, and let God take care of the results. If doing the right thing does not prosper us here in this life, don't let it worry us, God will reward us in Heaven. We (Christians) are to do the right thing and have faith and trust in God to handle the results.

I don't know what "multiculturalism" teaches about right and wrong. I know post-mondernism says that because of something similar to "Moral Equivilance" and other such garbage, there is no right or wrong. I don't buy that for a minute.

You said one thing that stuck out in my mind about a reward in the next life outweighing our worries in this life. I have trouble with that and I though of the caste system in India. Not the same but akin in my thinking. Eveb if true I have trouble with that and is part of my comment about the bible victimizing us.

I suspect we will have to work and struble in the next life also and I believe I personally will be comfortable with a fine home when the fruit of my own labor is all mine as I like to work and use tools and being stupid in academic and financial matters won't be a handicap that can be manipulated to ghain for others at my expense.

Being good and fair ain workin with the heathen. They want their way and nothing disuades them and good becomes a weakness in the battle. I picture it like a handful of converted Christians in the middle of hostile territiory. Maybe a few are savesd but they make no diference in the bigger picture. They become a political issue if it serves the Wests interests their barbarian hosts then become angered and threaten, intimidate and kill them. I was refering to the New testement teachings. The Old Testament is in tune with my view of dealing with enemies.

Eye for an eye is fair and as equitable as can be imagined. How does compassion make that 'fairness' look barbaric. All violence is barbaric. The judgement must be in the motive and not the act. Isn't that an aspect of Western legal theory?

Anyway. I support Christianity weather or not I agree with it or ubnderstand it cuz I ain seen nothing better yet. But if it keeps on failing us I will go heathen to fight the heathen. Not a well thought out comment here, am busy but wanted to respond.

While the above four things can all be related, and in a couple of instances they seem to contradict, they must all be applied when appropriate. This is what the liberal mindset, cannot get a grip on, which is why rational people (conservatives) say that liberalism is a mental illness. It also confuses many Christians, unless they can quit watching those TV preachers and really get their head into the Bible.

There is nothing wrong with fairness in business dealings, even when you have to deal with those who work against you. Being fair might even shame them, if that is possible. And mercy, when you find they have wronged you can be vastly preferable to going to jail for seeking revenge, though as good citizens, we may from time to time need to bring wrongs to justice. Nothing in the Bible prevents us from taking an issue to court when a non-believer has committed a crime against us, but it does say we have to be honest and not take from the non-believer more than fair compesation (which can include punitive damages and court costs). There is a different, though similar process, outlined in Corinthians, for dealing with Christians who have wronged us.

Forgiveness is for those who ask for it, in all sincerity, and with an honest heart, and with no intent to repeat the offense. There is no requirement to forgive those who are merely using the apology as a ruse to gain advantage. Thus Jesus told his deciples to be as wise as serpents.

Also, none of this prohibits self defense. (Turning the other cheek, if one will look closely at the passage in Matthew, is a command to maintain self control, and by that, contol the situation) It also does not prevent us from using superior firepower on the battle field.

Indeed, the original intent of the Geneva Convention's Laws of Armed Conflict were in harmony with the Bible. Inflict any pain and suffering on the enemy nessasary to achive military victory, but don't inflict pain and suffering that does nothing to achive your military goals. Inflict causalties on the enemy combatants, and on the industrial infrastructure that supports them, but try in all cases to minimise damages to things that do not support thier war effort. Do anything you need to, to stop an enemy soldier on the battlefield, but once he is off of the battlefield, treat him as a fellow human being.

Oh, yes, and multi culturalism. We are taught by the Bible to treat all humans the same regardless of race or ethnicity, but that does not extend to treating all religions or lifestyles the same. Not even close.

One point you made softens my view. Off the battlefield treat the enemy like a human being. Yes when he surrenders and submits to defeat I might even embrace him unless he is Muslim. BUT! Surrendering on the battlefield and submitting to defeat are not the same. That is why we incarcerate prosoners and guard them with weapons until the war is won. Deceit is why we cannot respect an enemys humanity. In fact invading enemys are criminals and that is why the laft want to prosecute us.

I wish for peace but we don't have the power to enforce it.

Ever listened to an athiest explain the evolution of the eye? If your gullabe AND HAVE FAITH you can honestly believe it happened according to law of phyisics AND the little cartoon pictures athiest carry around for when they need verification of what they are saying. Reminded me of an attempt by Mormons to convert me. Anyway, as awsome as evolving light receptor cells are, they are a joke compared to the ignored/overlooked visual cortex that actually converts the lights into images in our brain. LMAO

Notice that the 'missing link' is no longer an important point in academia? As evolution is a given, acknowledging any need for missing links (that can't be found) is dumbing down the whole science to accomidate the ignorant Christians. Makes sense that academic athiesm is an inclusive club. No problem, I like the Constitutional freedoms of assioation. I also like the Constitutional; right to discriminate. I don't like the indoctrination of or children by corrupt men in bully pulpits.

The extreme contempt of academic athiests towards Christians should be a MAJOR ISSUE among Christians. Even a legal issue the Supreme Court need to adress. Atheism is obviously a hate idealogy. And as we are all free to believe what we will, AND we have the right to reflect our beliefs at the polls, ... how does a majority Christian nation lose it's influence overnight? Godless evangical intellects are attracted to secular learning institutions. That too make perfect sense.
