The short answer: yes and no. Forbes says no, Paul says yes. One of the first comments points out that “no” is a more applicable answer, so long as the amount of fiat money in circulation is not disclosed…which it is not disclosed and hasn’t been for years (by both GOP and DNC administrations).
Where to go from here? Self sufficiency is the only safe answer.
…this guy is a mess. The reason I post this is the speculation in the article that his district re-elected him simply to oppose the Democrats. We MUST move passed this partisan thinking if we are to have a shot at reconciling the country.
…a sad legacy for Gen Patraeus. To be linked at all to John Edwards…just…bad.
…in this case, it’s double homicide. I hope this driver never sees the light of day again. The family is seeking donations to help cover costs. If you can spare anything, please consider donating.
…let the man have his vegetables! From Kelo to soda taxes, we’re in a bad spot when it comes to personal and property rights.
…or, “why I’m a bad manager.” This arbitrary decision, less than 48 hours after the election, serves only to illustrate this employer is a bad manager, not a principled American.
There are a number of things wrong with this. First, I wonder how he made his selection in firing the employees? That aside, a Romney victory would not have ensured the repeal of any of the factors he based his decision on. “ObamaCare” is modeled after Gov Romney’s plan in Mass. Also, Congress would have to repeal the legislation…and there’s little assurance a Democratic Senate would have worked with a President Romney, despite his much discussed willingness to work across party lines.
This employer isn’t making a principled or economic stand. Principles would have kept those employees until he had to let them go.
I don’t often share pictures on the site for a number of reasons but those of you who check in once in a while and whom wonder why the site hasn’t ever taken off again…may I present reason #1:

And I wouldn’t have it any other way.
If a TSA agent yells, “Freeze!” must you do so? Do they have the legal authority to do so and/or hold you accountable through the police power if not? Most importantly, is this frozen posture, “the posture of a free man?”
…from the poet and philosopher Jon Stewart. The key to leadership, I think, is to just “be a f***ing human being.” Call it the Stewart Derivative of the Golden Rule or something like that if you must; whatever the name, if you just treat your people with basic decency and be a human being, you will be on good path towards being a decent leader.
*NOTE: this is not in response to anyone or anything specifically. All is well. I facilitated a leadership seminar today and some of the stories I heard violated this critical principle.
